Taylor Ranch Community Center Classes

COMMUNITY CENTERS Classes are back! Monday Nights, 6:30 at TAYLOR RANCH Community Center. For now these will be mixed kids and adult classes. If at some point we get a huge influx of new kid students, I will have to adjust the schedule to give them there own class time. Show up about 10 minutes early as the community center will have paper work you need to fill out upon your first visit. Or do it ahead of time here on the city’s website. Make sure to check the COVID Protocols before attending.

REMEMBER – Stay home if you are feeling sick.

YES, even if it is allergies.

Saturday PARK Classes:

Now One Hour Earlier for the Summer.

Karate (Empty Hand):

Currently park Karate classes are Saturdays at Parkway Park at 10 am. We have fully integrated 2 person drills (like short forms or bunkai). Masks are always encourage but not required. Sanitizer will be available when we start these drills. If you are not quite comfortable with that yet (no worries neither am I), you can work the drills solo or with a family/friend member who came with you. If possible, please make payments ahead of time via the website. Uniforms and Belts are not required.

Kobudo (weapons):

Beginning Kobudo (only working the Bo and Nunchaku) and Advanced Kobudo (also working Sai and Tonfa) classes are now available Saturdays at Parkway Park. If you are just thinking about starting, grab a 6 foot by 1 Inch dowel and Lowes or Home Depot and meet us at 11am. Or you can just come to the Regular class at 10am and stay for weapons. “But Sensei, I already own the 4 main weapons, and at know at least 1 kata for each?” Perfect. Come to the advanced weapons class at 9am. And maybe stay for the regular class right afterwards. It’s $1 off if you do both!

“What is kobudo?” Kobudo is the practice of traditional Okinawan weapons. Karate and Kobudo are often referred to as the brother and sister of Okinawan Martial Arts. While it is not required to do both, it is strongly encouraged. Your karate will improve your kobudo, and your kobudo will improve your karate. You will need to provide your own weapons. This will now be open to yellow belts and above.

PRIVATE Lessons are Currently full but…

ZOOM CLASSES

Effective immediately Zoom Classes are now by request only and not at a scheduled time. So you must now call, text or email to schedule a Zoom Class. They will remain free for students who attend at least 1 in-person class (Private Lesson, Community Center or Park) per month. If you are looking for just online classes, call me and we can discuss times and pricing.

This is a great option IF YOU ARE FEELING sick but don’t want to loose out on class hours.

Link is on the “Class Time” page. Make sure to download the application/program at Zoom.us before class starts.
